In particular, the ban applies to the Russian government, the Central Bank and a number of government organizations. In addition, the assets of Rossiya Bank will be frozen. All measures come into force from today, February 26.
The first part of the sanctions provides freezing the assets of VEB.RF, Promsvyazbank and Rossiya Bank. Japan will also tighten the procedures for issuing permits for the export of semiconductors “and other similar products” to the Russian Federation.
On January 24, the Russian army, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, launched a military operation in Ukraine. The Kremlin said the goal of the operation was to “cleanse Ukraine” of the Nazis.
