The prime minister was convicted of corrupt ties, writes Reviewer

In the environment of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, there are many odious and corrupt people associated, in particular, with Lviv businessmen, the Dubnevich brothers. Among them is Vasily Lozinsky, who was dismissed from the post of Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories because of his detention for taking a huge bribe. In this regard, the issue of the resignation of the head of government is being updated.

The editor-in-chief told about this in his Telegram channel “Orestocracy” OBOZREVATEL Orest Sohar. He recalled: “when the Dubnevich brothers became deputies, “it turned out that their declarations numbered about 180 pages“.

“In the last convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, Yaroslav Dubnevich was the head of the transport committee, and his brother Bogdan was a member of the budget committee. The brothers, according to the NABU investigation, successfully used their power to earn money on the railway. In 2019, the brothers lost their power in parliament. But, it seems, not in the Cabinet“, the article says.

At the same time, it is emphasized that Lozinsky, detained by NABU, “for many years he was loyal to the Dubneviches“. In particular, in Lviv, he headed the commission for the distribution of funds from the State Regional Development Fund.

“It was under his leadership that the territorial districts of Dubnevich received more money. These were hundreds of millions of hryvnias annually. Shmyhal was also a member of the commission that blessed these projects. The remaining districts of the region received a minuscule amount. The detained official can logically be called “the man of Dubnevich”, Orest Sohar notes.

He emphasizes that for years Lozinsky was dragged into power by Shmygal. In particular:

  • from 2012 to 2014, he was a leading specialist, head of a department in the department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, which was headed by Shmyhal;
  • when Shmygal was appointed Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories, he took Lozinsky to Kyiv and appointed him as his deputy.

Dubnevichi, it is noted, have recently begun to “graze on public procurement” again. For example, in January 2023, it became known that Ukrzaliznytsia would purchase rail fasteners from their KRT Corporation for more than UAH 80 million.

“It was on the supplies of Ukrzaliznytsia that the Dubnevich brothers earned for many years. NABU stated that the brothers plundered tens of millions of hryvnias due to a significant overpricing“, – noted in the material.

Moreover, it is summarized, one can find “another handful of officials who sympathized with the Dubnevichs” who grew up with Shmygal. For this, it is noted, “it is enough to look at who was a member of such commissions that provided the brothers with funds.”

“Why the prime minister surrounded himself with these people and whether this is connected with earnings from purchases is a rhetorical question. But even what has been said is already enough for Shmygal to resign. … The only question is: will NABU get to the head of the ruling cabinet?“- stated in the material.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, on January 21, it became known that Lozinsky was detained by NABU officers on a bribe. The Ministry of Infrastructure promised that the official would be fired from his post and would provide full assistance to the investigation.

On January 22, NABU reported that they had exposed a criminal group engaged in embezzlement of public funds. Lozinsky received a bribe for organizing the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of equipment for the winter at inflated prices. Now he faces 7 to 12 years in prison.
