It became known about the unwillingness of France to sell the United States parts for nuclear reactors

France is exploring options to stop local nuclear equipment supplier Velan SAS from selling parts to the US.

About it informs Bloomberg, citing its own sources.

It is noted that the French authorities thus seek to protect the country’s strategic industry.

At the same time, the publication clarifies that Flowserve planned a deal worth about $ 247 million, under which it was supposed to absorb the French division of Velan Inc., based in Canada. In France, it supplies parts for one of the world’s largest nuclear power plant operators, Électricité de France.

The deal was supposed to close by the end of the second quarter, but was delayed.
