President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi wrote on his Twitter account that Israel has crossed “red lines” and this “could force everyone to take action”:
“Washington asks us not to do anything, but they themselves are providing large-scale support Israel. The US sent messages to the Axis of Resistance, but received a clear response on the battlefield.”
Previously, Raisi said in an interview with Al-Jazeera that Iran would not heed American warnings about the need not to interfere in what is happening in the Gaza Strip. He also denied his country’s involvement in the October 7 terrorist attack on Israel.
The Axis of Resistance is an anti-Western, anti-Israeli alliance consisting of Palestine, the Syrian government, the Lebanese group Hezbollah, pro-Syrian government militias, Shiite militias in Iraq, and the Yemeni Houthis.
Earlier, at a rally in support of Palestine in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Israel an “occupier” and accused him of war crimes. Against the backdrop of his statements, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen announced the recall of Israeli diplomats from the country to conduct a “reassessment of Turkish-Israeli relations.”
