Levon Agadzhanyan excused Gabriel Yushvaev’s guards until the last bullet
Former investigator of the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow Levon Agadzhanyan found guilty of tampering with evidence, reports the press service of the Zamoskvoretsky court. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
The investigation accused him of falsifying the case of shootout in the Oko tower in Moscow Citywhich occurred in 2017. The conflict then occurred between employees of a private security company and the guards of the co-owner of the Oko tower. Gabriel Yushvaeva – athletes from the Scorpio fight club, whom he led Magomed Ismailov. Employees of the Russian Guard tried to resolve the situation. As follows from the case materials, Ismailov ordered the guards to open fire – one person was killed and five, including employees of the Russian Guard, were injured.
Initially, the investigation assessed the incident as an attempted murder of two or more persons, illegal weapons trafficking and hooliganism. Investigator Agadzhanyan, as the Investigative Committee later concluded, tried to shield Ismailov by falsifying evidence. At the same time, in his actions not found selfish motive, investigators decided that Agadzhanyan thus wanted to “increase his authority and significance among representatives of the national diaspora.”
The investigator said that he could have made some procedural errors due to his workload, but the investigation was not completed and the materials were not sent to the court. He did not admit his guilt. Some of Agadzhanyan’s leaders, Kommersant wrote, confirmed his words.
Chopovets, who told during interrogation that Ismailov took a service pistol belonging to a wounded Russian Guard member, was threatened by the investigator that he would be prosecuted for stealing a weapon if he insisted on his words. In addition, it follows from the case that Levon Agadzhanyan destroyed or manipulated material evidence, including bullets extracted from the bodies of victims, and also swapped shell casings collected at the crime scene. As a result of all these manipulations, in the spring of 2018, investigator Agadzhanyan accused the Russian Guard and private security officers guarding the event taking place in the restaurant of starting the shooting in Moscow City, including among them even the deceased security guard Platon Koida. The bodyguards of Mr. Yushvaev were recognized by the investigator as victims.
Aghajanyan in the summer of 2022 addressed the president with a request to send him to a military operation. “Levon Agadzhanyan has the special rank of major of justice, at one time he was trained at the military department and believes that he can be useful in a special operation zone, where not only military officers, but also lawyers are in demand,” said his lawyer Alexey Petrov.
In January, the former head of Vladivostok was sentenced to 12 years for bribery. Oleg Gumenyuk
signed a contract to be sent to a military operation. In the same month became known about the death in the zone of military operation of the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Yekaterinburg Igor Trifonovwho in 2022 was sentenced to nine and a half years imprisonment for receiving a bribe.
