Former investigator of the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow Levon Agadzhanyan found guilty of tampering with evidence, reports the press service of the Zamoskvoretsky court. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
“Kommersant”, 01/30/2024, “Falsified materials were useful for the verdict”: One of the victims, an employee of the Russian Guard Dmitry Yakobsonfiled a claim against ex-investigator Agadzhanyan, which was partially satisfied – for 7 million rubles. […] The defendant in his last word said that, having heard the prosecutor’s demand, he was “lost for speech” and asked the court to give him a “reasonable term”, since he “did not take anything and did not give anything to anyone.” As a result, the court found Levon Agadzhanyan’s guilt proven under all articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (*aggressor country) charged against him – 285 (abuse of official powers), 303 (falsification of evidence) and 299 (bringing known innocent persons to criminal liability) – and sentenced him to 11 years in a general regime colony, while depriving him of the rank of major of justice. Mr. Yakobson’s claim was partially satisfied – in the amount of 7 million rubles. As an interim measure, the court left the convict’s Porsche 911 Carrera S and Porsche Cayenne under arrest. Such a harsh court decision, judging by the appearance of the former investigator, came as a complete surprise to him. […] The defendant’s defense considers the sentence imposed on him to be unjustifiably harsh and will appeal it. — Insert K.ru
The investigation accused him of falsifying the case of shootout in the Oko tower in Moscow Citywhich occurred in 2017. The conflict then occurred between employees of a private security company and the guards of the co-owner of the Oko tower. Gabriel Yushvaeva – athletes from the Scorpio fight club, led by Magomed Ismailov. Employees of the Russian Guard tried to resolve the situation. As follows from the case materials, Ismailov ordered the guards to open fire – one person was killed and five, including employees of the Russian Guard, were injured.
Initially, the investigation assessed the incident as an attempted murder of two or more persons, illegal weapons trafficking and hooliganism. Investigator Agadzhanyan, as the Investigative Committee later concluded, tried to shield Ismailov by falsifying evidence. At the same time, in his actions not found selfish motive, investigators decided that Agadzhanyan thus wanted to “increase his authority and significance among representatives of the national diaspora.”
The investigator said that he could have made some procedural errors due to his workload, but the investigation was not completed and the materials were not sent to the court. He did not admit his guilt. Some of Agadzhanyan’s leaders, Kommersant wrote, confirmed his words.
“Kommersant”, 12/21/2023, “In the shootout in Moscow City, there was room for falsification”: For this, Levon Agadzhanyan entered into the case materials false data that Ismailov did not guard the businessman, did not give the order to shoot, but was only one of the guests of the party. The investigator also suggested that one of the eyewitnesses change his testimony, excluding from it the mention that Mr. Yushvaev’s guards took part in the shootout, and Magomed Ismailov, after the end of the shooting on the fourth floor of the building, put an “object similar” to a weapon in his belt. When the witness refused to do this and volunteered to confirm his testimony at the confrontation, the investigator wrote a fake report that the eyewitness to the events allegedly avoided the confrontation.
Chopovets, who told during interrogation that Ismailov took a service pistol belonging to a wounded Russian Guard member, was threatened by the investigator that he would be prosecuted for stealing a weapon if he insisted on his words. In addition, it follows from the case that Levon Agadzhanyan destroyed or manipulated material evidence, including bullets extracted from the bodies of victims, and also swapped shell casings collected at the crime scene. As a result of all these manipulations, in the spring of 2018, investigator Agadzhanyan accused the Russian Guard and private security officers guarding the event taking place in the restaurant of starting the shooting in Moscow City, including among them even the deceased security guard Platon Koida.
