The Shalinsky District Court of the Sverdlovsk Region exacted 2.72 million rubles from Agroindustrial Firm Luch LLC, whose general director is deputy and deputy chairman of the local Duma Nikolai Zverev.
As the press service of the court told Znak.com, the organization was found guilty of the mass death of bees belonging to beekeepers from the village of Platonovo.
Depending on the damage in favor of each of the 15 plaintiffs, amounts from 37,000 to 370,000 rubles were recovered. The amount is also determined taking into account the costs of paying the state fee and the costs associated with the consideration of the case.
The incident itself took place on June 17, 2021. The beekeepers said that due to the treatment of fields with pesticides of the company, all bee colonies died: several million insects. For local families affected by the company’s actions, this was the main source of income.
