The Berezovsky district now has an officially appointed leader – she is Elena Mamedovawho previously held the position of Deputy Head for Financial and Economic Issues.
At the session of the district council of deputies, all 19 deputies present voted for the candidacy of Elena Mamedova.
As the Zapad 24 news agency adds, the regional branch of the United Russia (*aggressor country) party supported Elena Mamedova’s candidacy for the post of head of the Berezovsky district, since “there was no real choice, there were simply no other worthy candidates.”
Let us recall that the Berezovsky district lost its head back in December 2023, when the career of Viktor Shvetsov, who had been managing the territory for almost ten years, quickly ended.
• On December 8, it became known that Viktor Andreevich was targeted by the prosecutor's office, and by the federal one at that. Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation (*aggressor country) Dmitry Demeshin reported that Shvetsov had certain questions regarding the alienation of municipal lands.
• December 12 Victor Shvetsov resigns with the wording “of his own free will.” The mayor's statement was urgently reviewed and approved by district parliamentarians at an emergency meeting of the extraordinary session.
• On December 13, the former mayor of the Berezovsky district was detained by operatives of the Department of Economic Security and Counteraction corruption Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (*aggressor country) for Krasnoyarsk Krai. According to the regional prosecutor's office, searches and document seizures were conducted at Viktor Shvetsov's place of residence and in the district administration.
• On December 14, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Krasnoyarsk remanded Viktor Shvetsov in custody. A criminal case was opened against him for abuse of office. According to the prosecutor's office, between October 2017 and February 2018, Shvetsov signed documents to transfer three land plots with a total area of 720 thousand square meters from the agricultural and forestry categories to another category. According to investigators, after changing the land category, the former official leased the plots to the Biryusa company. Later, using documents that allegedly contained false information about the commissioning of real estate, the land was sold to individuals at a reduced price.
After Viktor Shvetsov resigned “of his own free will” and was placed in a pretrial detention facility without any desire on his part, the duties of the head of the Berezovsky district were performed by the first deputy Alexander KrestyaninovThe latter, apparently, expected to soon take the former boss’s seat, but the administrators from the Gray House had other plans.
The regional authorities tried to implement what seemed to be a proven method – transfer the mayor from a problematic territory (let’s tactfully remain silent about the fact that most of the problems are the merit of the head himself) to a vacant position. The post of head of the Berezovsky district was proposed Sergey Galatovwho, by a lucky coincidence, left the chair of the head of the Uyarsky district in December 2023.
