In Russia, they called the transfer of Patriot air defense systems by the West to Kyiv as a deprivation of their own protection

Corresponding member of the Academy of Military Sciences, military diplomat, candidate of military sciences Oleksandr Bartosh, in a conversation with the media, spoke about the need for Western countries to transfer Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) to Ukraine and called this deprivation of their own protection.

“Patriot is not so much in the US and among the allies. Therefore, they remove these complexes from duty at their facilities and send them to Ukraine. This is such a kind of cannibalism when a part is removed from one object and sent to another, ”he said.

The expert clarified that the main task of such complexes, which were transferred to Kyiv, will be the protection of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He noted that the air defense systems will be placed in such a way as to provide protection for command posts, the government residence, and also, probably, airfields to which Ukraine may begin to supply aircraft in the future.
