Within six months of the scheme’s operation, the businessmen “earned” more than a million hryvnia from draft dodgers, the investigation found.
Law enforcement officials exposed the head of the military medical commission (MMC), Kropivnitsky, who, in collusion with an employee of one of the regional dispensaries, organized the trade in “white” military ID cards. The State Bureau of Investigation reported this on Friday, September 13.
The investigation established that the head of the VVK established a scheme for receiving funds from conscripts.
“For being declared “unfit” for service, men had to pay from 2 to 10 thousand dollars. The person involved in the scheme involved a doctor from the dispensary, who was looking for those wishing to avoid mobilization and making false diagnoses regarding the existing health problems of those liable for military service,” the report says.
According to operational data, within six months of the scheme’s operation, the businessmen “earned” more than a million hryvnia from draft dodgers.
The head of the VVK and his accomplice were detained during the division of payment for the next “white ticket”. They were informed of suspicion of receiving unlawful benefits by an official (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
Earlier, suspicion was reported to a law enforcement officer from the Chernivtsi region, who, with three accomplices, organized a channel for the illegal transportation of men liable for military service to the EU.
