IKEA will not sell business in Russia?

The media reported that the well-known company IKEA is not looking for a buyer for the Russian business.

Moreover, the company is said to intend to reopen within a year or two. Reporter reports this DOPs with reference to TASS.

A source, in turn, told the agency about this situation.

According to him, the company is not going to sell its Russian business to anyone.

The interlocutor also said that IKEA warehouses and stores in Russia will remain closed until the retailer returns.

“Shops – the so-called blue boxes – will be closed until the return of IKEA, possibly rented out next year. At the same time, the company retains about 700 employees who will continue to work in offices and do work for Swedish colleagues … The company, of course, sells factories due to pressure from Sweden, but with the option that in the future these factories will produce furniture and other products under their orders at an affordable cost,” he added.

Now on the company’s Russian website hanging messagewhich says that IKEA has completed the online sale of products for buyers, as well as for corporate customers.

“IKEA stores will remain closed and will only operate for the issuance of completed orders, as well as the return and exchange of goods. All orders placed before the end of online sales will be processed, issued or delivered during August and September at the time agreed upon when ordering.

Recall that earlier this year McDonald’s left the Russian market. The company has found a buyer for Russian assets. Now in the Russian Federation there is no McDonald’s, but there is a Tasty – and that’s it.
