Ukraine International Airlines will be led by a group of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky – his partner Aron Mayberg left the founders of UIA. This is reported NV Business citing three sources in the aviation industry, writes Ukrrudprom.
On February 9, Capitel Investment Project, one of the shareholders of UIA, recalled Aron Mayberg from the Supervisory Board of the air carrier.
Alexandra Nikitina, a partner of Ecovis law firm Bondar & Bondar, also known for her collaboration with UIA and personally with Mayberg, also left the Supervisory Board. Nikitin was recalled by another shareholder – Ontobet Promotions Limited (Cyprus).
Until that moment, Aron Mayberg headed the Supervisory Board of the airline for many years.
The place of Maiberg and Nikitina in the supervisory board was taken by Alexander Khmarsky and German Klimko. The latter is known for participation in the authorized capital of two companies – Transnova and Balance Group.
In addition, on December 30, Anna Borisonnik was elected UIA President. Prior to UIA, she worked for several Dnipro companies, including Aquatera, which is ultimately owned by Igor Kolomoisky and his business partner Gennady Bogolyubov.
“These developments effectively put the risk under more than a decade of Mayberg’s rule in the carrier after the privatization of a controlling stake in UIA in 2011.“, the article says.
However, it is unlikely that Kolomoisky will become the direct owner of Mayberg’s stake. Since 2017, the London Court on the suit of PrivatBank imposed a worldwide arrest on the assets of Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov. With a high probability, the arrest may extend to new acquisitions.
