The son of the deceased believes that police trying to hush up the matter.
A fatal accident occurred on June 18 on Taganskaya Street in Moscow. 43-year-old Anna Drozdova was hit by a black Mitsubishi Pajero at high speed. A 70-year-old master of sports of the USSR was driving Gennady Mylnikov – after the accident, he drove away a few meters and, without approaching the girl, began to wait for the police in the car. Anna was taken to Sklifosovsky Hospital with multiple fractures and injuries, where she died.
According to Drozdova’s son Andrey, a week after the accident—on the deceased’s birthday—he received a call from an unknown number. The caller identified herself as Mylnikov’s representative and offered “material assistance.” The guy didn’t answer. He managed to initiate a criminal case only a month and a half after the accident. At the same time, Mylnikov is not brought into the case as a defendant, Drozdov tells “Beware the News.”
“In a conversation with the investigator, it became clear that there was enough evidence (for example, three examinations confirming the guilt of the driver, witnesses to the accident). You can take the case to court, but this does not happen. Obviously, the combination of these circumstances can only be in the interests of one person – the culprit of the accident. Strangers interfere in the investigation. This cannot be explained by anything else, especially considering Mylnikov’s status,” says Andrey.
