The FSB revealed the illegal sale of 8 tons of crab in Moscow restaurants – in in particular Zarkov’s White Rabbit Family alliance
The FSB conducted an inspection of Moscow restaurants and revealed the fact of illegal sale of more than 8 tons of crab, TASS reports citing a source in law enforcement agencies. The damage to the state amounted to about 50 million rubles, the agency reports. The report says that the inspections affected Boris Zarkov’s restaurant alliance White Rabbit Family (WRF). He confirmed to the agency the fact of the inspections, but noted that they do not affect the conduct of business. He did not disclose any other details. A TASS source said that a criminal case has been opened under paragraphs. “a”, “b” part 4 art. 171.1 of the Criminal Code (production, acquisition, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products without labeling by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on an especially large scale). It provides for punishment of up to six years in prison.
The investigation found that the crab buyers acted in collusion with dubious suppliers who were not verified by the Federal State Information System “Mercury”. This is an electronic veterinary certification system, with its help producers of meat, fish and other products of animal origin draw up the necessary accompanying documents.
