The Minister of Forestry and Environmental Management of Tuva Temir Saryg-Haa and the head of the local Avialesookhrana Alash Kuular were fired due to an accident in which five people died, the head said region Vladislav Khovalyg in his telegram channel.
One of the cars involved in the accident belongs to the local Avialesookhrana, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Forestry. According to preliminary data, the driver of the official car was drunk.
“The limit has been exceeded almost five times. This became possible due to negligence and absence control over official discipline. Which is unacceptable in conditions when we are waging a tough fight against drunk driving,” Khovalyg wrote.
He decided to fire the minister and the head of Avialesookhrana because they “did not ensure discipline and control in the subordinate institution.”
The accident occurred on the night of September 8 at the 926th km of the R-257 Yenisei road. According to the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two cars collided, resulting in five people dying from their injuries.
According to Khovalyg, a family from Dzun-Khemchik (Dzun-Khemchiksky) died in an accident [муниципальный район] Kozhuun is located in the west of Tuva): mother, father, their student son. Also in the car were a grandmother and an aunt from this family; the eldest son was hospitalized with injuries. The youngest child was at home, the two sons were thus left orphans, the governor said.
