Headmistress-color-blind almost sewed the case because of the pigtails of a schoolgirl

The scandal with the “yellow-blue” pigtails of a schoolgirl from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug has come to an end. The parents are not to blame, and the pigtails were not “yellow-blue.”

Earlier it became known that the director of school No. 1 in the city of Pyt-Yakh complained to the police about the parents of one of the students. On the eve of Victory Day, a schoolgirl came to class with colored pigtails and a yin and yang sign shaved on the back of her head. Director Irina Kotova, a former police colonel, saw shades of the Ukrainian flag in the ribbons on the pigtails, and the logo of the Azov Battalion (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) in the yin and yang symbol.

With this director Kotova went to the police and filed a complaint against the mother of the child. And right away. Without calling the parents to the school and other procedures that could precede the appeal to the authorities. The family even had to communicate with the juvenile inspector. But that’s where the story ended. At least for the girl and her parents, 86.ru correspondent Katerina Abdulova told Business FM:

– It turned out that the ribbons, kanekalon more precisely, were not yellow, but light green. But the proceedings had already begun, the parents, along with the girl, were pulled to the representatives of law enforcement agencies. The situation has already been resolved, law enforcement officers have found out everything, and it turns out that there are no questions for the girl and her family. And before that, the issue of initiating an administrative case was decided.

– There are no complaints, because they nevertheless proved that it is not yellow, but light green?

– I think yes. Firstly, as the master who wove these pigtails said, there was no intention to make a reference to the Ukrainian flag. The girl wanted pigtails of this color because she has such shoes – she is a football player and performs at competitions and made her hair the color of her sportswear. According to the press secretary of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the district, the story is over. True, now it is not entirely clear what will happen next at the school and in the department of education, because they also understood this situation. Unfortunately, we were unable to contact them.

Children’s Ombudsman in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug Lyudmila Nizamova told Rise that the local administration should check the legality of the director’s actions. And to find out why “in a situation that required resolution precisely by pedagogical measures, the director decided to act by a legal and administrative decision.”
