Fatal “event”: who will answer for Donstroy?
At the facilities of the Donstroy company, which is patronized by VTB and Andrei Kostin, people continue to die, flooding and falling elevators occur.
A few days ago, another worker died at the construction site of the Donstroy company at 9 Lobachevsky Street. LCD “Event”, which the company is building at this address, unfortunately, justifies its name by no means due to positive incidents. In March of this year, two floors of scaffolding collapsed there at once, which also led to the death of a person. Two more were taken away in an ambulance.
The death of Donstroy workers has already become a sad classic – people die at the company’s facilities almost every month. But, apparently, the company’s management needs something more serious in order to take care of ensuring proper security at the facilities.
The scandals around the developer are not limited to this.

Speaking about the human factor in relation to the company’s construction sites, one cannot fail to mention the fights of migrants taking place there – the Ostrov residential complex became famous for them, where in March of this year 50 employees did not share something, as a result of which some of them subsequently ended up hospitalized.
And a year earlier, as many as 125 participants in the construction of the “Heart of the Capital” staged another serious brawl right under the construction site. The results of such “work” are obvious: some time after the commissioning of the residential complex, the parking lot was flooded there.
Holes, deaths and environmentalists
And a few days before one of the fights, Donstroy’s contractors drilled through a tunnel in the Moscow metro without coordinating the work with the Moscow metro. Interestingly, only the construction sites of the Donstroy company are famous for such frequent serious incidents. Although there are residents of neighboring countries on the sites of other developers. One gets the impression that here the word “completely” does not follow how and what the employees do.
This is also evidenced by the quality of the created LCDs. Moreover, the matter is far from always limited to leaks, loose windows, audibility, as in communal apartments, and other charms of modern housing construction. In the residential complex “Scarlet Sails”, for example, an elevator fell into the mine. The woman in it died. After checking by Rostekhnadzor, it turned out that all the elevators in this residential complex were in disrepair.
Moreover, a few years earlier, a criminal case was initiated on the fact of the death of five people in the collapse of an elevator at the facility of the Donstroy company in the north-west of Moscow. But this, apparently, did not particularly excite the beneficiaries of the company.
Donstroy does not shy away from building in protected areas – despite all the protests of the public. The mnemonic floodplain in Moscow was built up with the “Ostrov”. So far, it has been possible to cope with Donstroy in the territories of the Pogodinskaya quarter, which the developer was going to demolish. But who knows – maybe it’s just the calm before the storm?
What is Donstroy spent on?
If you believe what they write in the media, the working conditions in Donstroy are not the best.
However, if you look at the reviews about working in the company, almost all, as one, are purely positive. Whereas, in fact, the work of the company looks as if they save money on everything, including the creation of working conditions. Apparently, in “Donstroy” they do not skimp only on advertisers.
The brochures about the company’s projects are really impressive – business-class complexes with magnificent views, almost the gardens of Babylon in the courtyards and wonderful apartments (where nothing blows and nothing flows). The company still works in the highest segments of real estate – Business, Premium and De Luxe, And the prices for its objects are appropriate.
What people actually get is often very different from these rosy pictures. For example, in the residential complex “Heart of the Capital”, “Central Park” the residential complex, designated in the project declaration as a “green common area”, was surrounded by a fence made of corrugated board and specially hired security guards did not let the residents of the houses of the first stage go there, because it is “not allowed” .
Donstroy itself has been on the verge of bankruptcy for several years. Back in 2017, Business Vector published a report on the financial position of the company, which says that the company, in fact, cannot even pay for itself, let alone develop development projects.
After a short time, the lines about the “crisis-unstable” position of the company and its possible upcoming bankruptcy disappeared from the report – apparently, someone really did not want the “fish” in the face of potential buyers, having seen the “fishing rod”, changed their minds “peck”.
Kostin & Co
It is believed that “Donstroy” owes its vitality to the presence in the company of allegedly personal interests of the head of VTB Andrei Kostin. The bank has been lending to the company for many years, and one of the high positions in the company is occupied by Alina Deryabina, a former vice president of VTB. The fact that the company is closely connected with the state bank is also confirmed by the situation in 2010, when equity holders, tired of waiting for their apartments in the residential complex “Dom on Begovaya” (“Donstroy” seriously delayed the deadline), almost stormed VTB offices to find out what happening.
Perhaps it is thanks to such serious support “from above” that the developer gets away with everything for the time being.
On Mosfilmovskaya Street, at the suit of the Moscow Depimuschestvo, they demanded to demolish a building that “is not on the cadastral register and is located in the” red lines “. Only here, for some reason, the court suddenly sided with the developer, justifying its decision by the fact that, although a number of violations, but it does not threaten the life and health of citizens, and, therefore, let it stand.

There was a more egregious situation: when the assets of the state corporation Roscosmos, the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities of Roscosmos (TsENKI) of KB Motor, went to Donstroy.
Earlier, The Moscow Post found out that the sale of apartments could begin on this site as early as 2021. Then information about the Donstroy construction project appeared on several websites, but after it was made public by journalists, it was quickly cleaned up. As we assumed at that time, the project will be implemented through SZ Makeev, a subsidiary of Donstroy, registered in 2021 at the same address as Motor. When information about the potentially impending transfer of the Roskosmos asset to Donstroy became public, SZ Makeev was re-registered in the basement on Mosfilmovskaya Street, where it is now located. And the references to the past address were wiped out.
Apparently, they really did not want to “shine” ahead of time. After all, the asset is a strategic one, but it is located in a too “tasty” place – so they decided, apparently, to “quietly” crank out the sale. The gears turned, although it was a potentially risky venture – you never know who from the highest echelons of power will pay attention. It is unlikely that President Vladimir Putin would have liked the sale of hospitality territories.
Apparently, the sellers “sat out”, but then decided that, since they still cannot avoid publicity, they need to turn the case to the end. At the same time, according to Vedomosti, Motor will lease the territory for some time, which is given to Donstroy. It turns out that the state structure will also pay for the land that it gave away to third parties. hzikhidtidekrt hands?!
You can talk about ugly cases where “Donstroy” appears for a long time. But the essence will not change: the company’s facilities are simply dangerous, despite their high cost, and not always comfortable for living. And while the lobbyists are in power, it is unlikely that much will change. But if the IC takes hold of any of the “protruding threads”, unraveling the tangle can lead to the appearance of one of the most high-profile criminal cases.
