“Exemplary” Sechin

“Exemplary” Sechin

What is the reason for the sudden fame of the ex-wife of the head of Rosneft, Marina Sechina, as a successful businesswoman actively earning money on government contracts?

According to UtroNews correspondent, the company of Marina Sechina, the former wife of the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin, received a state contract for 360 million rubles for design work on the construction of the Obraztsovo scientific cluster. It is worth noting that Sechina’s firms are generally well fed on government contracts. The case when there are no “former”?

According to data from Rusprofile, Sechina’s ADM Special Solutions and Technologies received a contract from the Russian University of Transport at the end of last year – and this is one of the largest contracts issued by an educational institution. Why did it suddenly decide to trust Sechina’s firm?

It is worth noting that ADM Special Solutions and Technologies has already successfully performed in the field of state orders, gaining such contracts for 416 million rubles. And one of the customers of the company is the structure of Rostec, JSC ONPP Tekhnologiya im. A.G. Romashina, which paid 4 million rubles for the contract.

The same joint-stock company issued more than 1 billion rubles to another Sechina company, Stankoflot. Today, this company is little known, and, by and large, unprofitable – with a revenue of 119 million rubles, it has losses of 45 million. So where, you ask, is Rostec’s money?

And they presumably could well have “drowned” in Sechina’s other assets, for example, in Phobos LLC, whose losses reached almost 5 million rubles. By the way, basically the firms of the ex-wife of the head of Rosneft (in total, she is listed as the founder of 10 organizations) have completely zero indicators. So, they do not conduct any economic activity? It looks at least suspicious.

There is an opinion that Sechina does not have to think about the financial success of her firms – they say, thanks to her former marriage to Igor Sechin, she is already in order. And indeed, the life path of a businesswoman is magically connected with the career of her ex-spouse. In mid-2012, Igor Sechin headed the state corporation Rosneft, and already in 2013 his wife became a co-owner of several companies, including Exect Partners Group, which was one of the three largest consulting firms in Russia.

Sechina’s interest in the food business is also known. In particular, we are talking about the company for the production of prepared and canned meat products “Paritet Vyatka”.

In addition, it is possible that not all of Sechina’s assets are formally reflected in the extracts from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. Thus, Kommersant wrote that Sechina owns 51% of Phobos LLC. Through this company, the Paritet Vyatka company was controlled. It is noteworthy that Paritet Vyatka is now owned by Paritet LLC. At the same time, there is information in the public domain only about the owner of 49% of this company. Could it be that Marina Sechina is hiding behind the remaining 51? But Paritet LLC manages three large agro-industrial companies.

Sechina’s footprint was also noticed in sales companies, among which was Chelyabenergosbyt PJSC (ChES), which was ceded to Energopromfinance Consortium LLC, where Marina Sechina, the former wife of the head of Rosneft, is listed as co-owner. By the way, this LLC was liquidated in February 2020.

According to Kommersant, the entrepreneur entered the capital of the BSEC through three more companies affiliated with each other and with her: Bazisenergo Trade LLC, LVL Investment Group LLC and Center for Private Law of the Electric Power Industry LLC. Among the co-owners of the latter was the general director of Mezhregionsoyuzenergo, Yuri Shulgin. As if by chance it turned out that Mrs. Sechina is also one of the shareholders of this holding.

What is noteworthy: at the time of entering most of the above businesses, Mrs. Sechina had no official income. And then suddenly – bam! – and began to actively do business. All this became an occasion for talk that her husband supported her entrepreneurial endeavors.
