In the “Food City” of God Nisanov, “showdowns” and “sharing” are taking place. The same fate awaits the site given to him for development in East Biryulyovo?
The Moscow government has approved a residential development project in Vostochnoye Biryulyovo. Associated with God Nisanov's Kievskaya Ploshchad, the South Mall company is going to build 850,000 sq. m. m of real estate on 100 hectares.
But plans do not always coincide with what consumers and customers end up with. The correspondent of The Moscow Post tried to figure out whether this applies to the current situation.
Previously, on the territory of East Biryulyovo, there was the Emeral market, which belonged to Alexei, Vladimir and Simon Yusufov. Massive complaints about counterfeit goods, dirt, and even trade in illegal goods eventually provoked a demand from Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin to close the market. In 2015, Nisanov's structures bought the territory.

God Nisanov and the Yusufov brothers are from the Azerbaijani village of Krasnaya Sloboda. From there, the former owner of the Cherkizovsky market Telman Ismailov, who is on the international wanted list. It is believed that it was from his “wing” that God Nisanov and his partner Zakhar Iliev came out.
Nisanov has great interests in the field of market trade. His main asset runs the Food City market, which brings the entrepreneur a huge income.
Initially, the South Mall wanted to create an entertainment or logistics park on the site of the former Emerald. In such a project, it would be easy to implement something like a market square, because outdoor entertainment involves at least food stalls. But the mayor's office, apparently, rejected the project, it had to be rearranged.
Now Nisanov is preparing a residential complex, but with a reservation about 131 sq. m. meter out of 850 for non-residential real estate – including a multifunctional complex. Can these squares go under the construction of an analogue of “Emeral”?
According to Rusprofile, the South Mall has a legal successor – the Domodedovo Food organization created in 2021 (owned by Nisanov and his partners). The name, as it were, hints at the fact that the company can be created with the aim of implementing a project related to the food industry and trade. In fairness, we note that rental and property management appear in the types of its activities.
In October 2020, the Southern Mall bought the territory of the wholesale distribution center from the structures that connected the territories of the wholesale distribution center with the ex-owners of Promsvyazbank, the Ananyev brothers “Four Seasons”.

What are they afraid of
In the same “Food City”, despite its decent location in a covered area, almost gangster showdowns periodically occur. From 2016 to 2018, a criminal group led by Jabrayil Heydarov operated on its territory, extorting money for patronage. For refusing to pay, one of the merchants, Torgul Tagiyev, was shot in his own car on November 21, 2018.
In July 2020, Armenian trucks that brought goods to the market began to turn around, letting only Azerbaijani trucks in. It is possible that the conflict on ethnic grounds arose due to the aggravation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In the same year, migrants staged a mass unauthorized rally at Food City, dissatisfied with the size of the rent that the owner demanded of them. Yes, pay Nisanov and the “roof” in the person of Heydarov, who somehow calmly settled down in Food City. Is it with the permission of its owner?
And in 2021, according to the testimony of the victims, they were attacked on the territory of Food City. As a result of one of these conflicts on or near the territory of the market, a man even died. The alleged reason was a showdown between immigrants from Dagestan and Tajikistan, employees and owners of retail outlets of the shopping center.
There are more piquant things in the work of “Food City”. According to the “Company”, the raids that the security forces carried out on the market territories, presented as operations to identify migrants and illegal immigrants, were in fact attempts to detect illegal “exchangers”, as well as cryptocurrency, which, according to the Central Bank, is downright inundated ” Food City”.
Yes, and besides all the near-criminal incidents, the banal quality of goods for the consumer leaves much to be desired: on various sites you can find a huge number of reviews, the authors of which blame unsanitary conditions, beggars and exorbitant prices for goods.

In 2015, fighters against economic crimes intercepted over 200,000 bottles of alcohol hazardous to health, which, according to operatives, could be supplied to “Food City”. Not so long ago, four people died from counterfeit alcohol, the seller of which rented an outlet just in Food City.
In general, according to some estimates, the market looks no better than the same “Emeral” looked. And disassembly, counterfeit, unsanitary conditions and life-threatening products on it are commonplace.
A little light on Nisanov's connection
God Nisanov had a partner, Ilgar Gadzhiev, whom, according to Gadzhiev himself, he, roughly speaking, “threw” by taking away the construction company Accord Spetsstroy from him. Gadzhiev, in an interview with The Moscow Post, shed light on some of Mr. Nisanov's connections, which may help him stay out of the sight of the security forces.
Akkord Spetsstroy received gigantic contracts from Moscow government agencies. According to Hajiyev, Leonid Slutsky, the current leader of the LDPR, who is on good terms with Sergei Sobyanin, was allegedly involved in securing these contracts for bribes. Who, according to rumors, is the son of State Duma deputy Vladimir Resin (the latter, according to recently published data, owns 13 apartments in Prague).
Gadzhiev also said that he was personally present at the transfer of a bribe from the people of Akkord Spetsstroy to Moscow Vice Mayor Pyotr Biryukov, who is responsible for major repairs in Moscow. According to the Daily Storm, the company of the former owners of Emeral, the Yusufovs, also cooperated with the Overhaul Fund. Thus, everything revolves around the same people with market interests and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
Most recently, the Bakhchisarai company, associated with Nisanov, participated in an auction for the lease of a cultural heritage site Stable Department in St. Petersburg . The firm even won the auction. But either because of the hype in the media, or because of the influence of competitors, the results of the auction were canceled. According to The Moscow Post, this could have saved the huge building in the heart of the city from becoming another flea market.
The inhabitants of Vostochny Biryulyovo will not be saved, and in the place of the former Emerald they will have to contemplate an identical gathering of migrants disguised as shopping center. If we draw an analogy with what is happening in the “Food City”, perhaps we should expect bloody showdowns, dirt, unsanitary conditions and exorbitant prices.
