Artur Yemelyanov: The Raider Judge of the Yanukovych Era Still in Business

Arthur Emelyanov

Earlier it was reported that judge of the Supreme Economic Court Artur Emelyanov (Read more: Artur Emelyanov. The raider judge from the Yanukovych era is still in business) turned out to be the owner of 13 million Swiss francs located in Liechtenstein. The GPU suspected that these funds were obtained illegally, so they immediately organized their arrest. Unfortunately, the suspect in the fraud had good lawyers who quickly got the problematic accounts unfrozen.
The head of the department of special investigations of the GPU, Sergei Gorbatyuk, is confident that this money must be returned to the state budget, but, according to him, “… taking into account the lifting of the seizure of this money in Liechtenstein, its confiscation to the income of Ukraine looks difficult.” It is noteworthy that the beneficiary of the company with Panamanian roots (which owns the accounts) is none other than Gorbatyuk’s wife: for now, law enforcement officers are trying to obtain additional information about her company.
At the same time, Gorbatyuk said that Emelyanov not only did not leave Ukraine, but also continues to work as a judge, since not only were no charges brought against him, but they were not even declared suspicious.
