“At a construction site on St. Avtozavodskaya during the performance of work, a worker of a subcontractor received an electrical injury. Man born in 1974 died on the spot, ”the prosecutor’s office of the city of Moscow reported in the first decade of June.
The course and results of the procedural check carried out on the fact of the death of a worker are under the control of the Simonovskaya interdistrict prosecutor’s office, the press service of the department added. “Version” decided to study the object where the emergency happened.
Character “Nordic”
We open the map of Moscow and see that at the corner of Sofiyskaya embankment and Avtozavodskaya street, the Forst residential complex is being built (translated from Norwegian – “first”). A business-class facility, prices for apartments in it, according to the offer on the developer’s website, start at 11.8 million rubles and reach up to 90.2 million rubles, despite the rather controversial location of the residential complex. The nearest metro station “Tulskaya” is 14 minutes on foot, the metro station “Avtozavodskaya” will take 21 minutes, but the TTK (Third Transport Ring) is only a hundred meters away. It would seem that this is good, because wealthy people who probably have at least one car buy apartments for that kind of money. And one could agree with this, if not for the “eternal” traffic jams on this section of the city highway. And that means exhaust gases, road dust, and all this flies right into the windows of expensive apartments. Not to mention the loss of time: in Moscow it is easier and faster to get to the right place by metro than by car. In a word, a potential buyer has something to think about. However, for some reason the developer is sure that this “Nordic” residential complex will be in demand.
By the way, about the builder. Forma is one of the “brands” of PIK Group, created specifically for the construction of business class facilities. There is also the Mono brand, “designed” for elite development, but not a single object has yet been commissioned under this sign, so we are not talking about it now. The PIK Group itself specializes in the construction of economy and comfort class housing. Simply put, it builds so-called human settlements in large quantities. And, alas, we have to admit that the death of a worker at one of the PIK construction sites in early June is not an out of the ordinary event, but just another case in a series of similar ones.
And is it worth it?
PIK Group leads the rating of Russian developers, commissioning millions of square meters of housing annually. Thus, last year 2.1 million sq.m. were put into the housing stock. This year, about 5.5 million sq.m. are under active development. housing. Record volumes, whatever you say. And everything would be fine if it were not for the emergencies that occur at construction sites with frightening regularity, the dissatisfaction of local authorities with the fulfillment of their social obligations by the developer and the constant complaints of apartment buyers about the quality of construction.
Only last month, Nasha Versiya wrote about a fire in the Novoe Ochakovo residential complex being built by the PIK Group of Companies in the Western Administrative District of Moscow. Shortly before that, we mentioned a fire in the residential complex “Mikhailovsky Park”. Previously, fires occurred in the residential complex “Krasnokazarmennaya, 15”, in the house at Ilmensky proezd, 15A, in the residential complex “Butovo Park 2” and in a residential area on Ivana Franko Street, which was built under the renovation program.
Sometimes floods happen in houses built by PIK. A sad example of this is the Green Park residential complex in the north-east of Moscow, where six entrances were flooded with boiling water due to a pipe break. It also floods apartments during rains – residents of the Meshchersky Les residential complex and other housing estates faced this problem.
Wise by bitter experience, Muscovites are already, apparently, shying away from the “tempting offers” of the leading developer, like hell from incense. The impressions of people who call themselves clients of companies owned by billionaire Sergey Gordeev are easy to find on the net. Here is one of them:
“What is PIK, all of Moscow knows and does not remember without a mat. And the inhabitants of these “peakers” swear even more. Due to poor-quality construction and the company’s failure to fulfill elementary guarantees,” writes user Andrey Troy.
And there are many such reviews. And we have not yet mentioned the fights that workers at construction sites arrange from time to time. The last one happened in April – at one of the facilities under construction of the PIK Group of Companies, the builders started a real massacre, using improvised means. At least one of the participants in the fight, judging by the video that appeared on the Web, was seriously injured, his fate remains unknown.
And now – the death of a worker at a construction site from electric shock. That is, in principle, there is every reason to believe that PIK Group uses low-skilled, but cheap labor force – migrants from the countries of Central Asia – at the construction sites of the “human workers”. Where, one might ask, is labor discipline and safety observance to come from, if the majority of these workers literally do not understand the Russian language? In addition, there is no reason to believe that some other builders, Russian-speaking and highly qualified, work for the developer on the construction of business-class facilities. No, most likely, the same migrants and for the same salary. And, if we continue the logical chain, then it is quite likely that the so-called “business class” is being built from the same building materials as the “humans”. The question arises: is this quality worth the money?
Unfortunately, the approach “money is here and now, and after us – at least the grass will not grow” is typical not only for PIK Group. “Versiya” also repeatedly wrote about similar problems of the developer “DonStroy”, which also occupies the top lines of the rating. But so far, it seems that the management of companies simply does not care about such “little things” as the quality of work and the safety of people.
