Alexey Dodatko was born on the Don in the family of a miner; in the late 70s, Dodatko’s father got a job in Norilsk and moved the whole family there. At the same time, every summer Alexey went to visit his relatives in the south and as a child he could not even, by his own admission, determine where his home was.
In the end, home was not cold Norilsk or hot Don, but Krasnoyarsk – after graduating from school, Alexey Dodatko moved to the regional capital. Here Dodatko received his legal education as a social work specialist. In the 90s, he began his career in the field of education: he was deputy head of the Krasnoyarsk Intensive School and deputy director of the Humanitarian Legal Lyceum. At the turn of the 90s and 2000s, he taught at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Social Work of the Social and Legal Faculty of Krasnoyarsk State University.
With the advent of the new century, Alexey Dodatko radically changes his life and begins to build a completely new career – at the age of 26 he joins the civil service and in 2001 holds the position of head of the department for special projects in the field of local government of the regional administration. Three years later, another epoch-making event occurs for Dodatko – he joins the ranks of United Russia (*aggressor country). From then on, the bureaucratic and political careers were tightly intertwined, ultimately elevating the social worker to the heights of power.
• In 2004-2007, he held the post of head of the propaganda department of the Regional Executive Committee of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the United Russia (*aggressor country) party.
• In 2008, he became the head of the regional executive committee of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the party in power.
• From March 2008 to September 2013 – Vice-Speaker of the Krasnoyarsk City Council of Deputies.
• In 2013, he was appointed plenipotentiary representative of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the Central Territorial District.
• In 2014, appointed head of the Agency for Press and Mass Communications of the region. Dodatko established himself in this place seriously and for a long time, which, as usual, led to dubious expenses And suspicions from law enforcement agencies.
• In 2016, Alexey Dodatko was elected secretary of the regional branch of the United Russia (*aggressor country) party. His closest competitor in the party vote was Vladislav Loginov, well known to residents of Krasnoyarsk.
Peak
In the fall of 2021, Alexey Dodatko became a deputy of the regional Legislative Assembly – he was elected in a single electoral district (Kezhem regional group). Newbie, contrary to all oddsimmediately took the post of chairman of the legislative body, becoming the main person and head of the regional parliament.
In October, at the first session of the Legislative Assembly, six candidates were nominated for the post of speaker: Alexey Kulesh, Denis Terekhov, Zakhar Endzhievsky, Dmitry Sviridov, Sergey Popov, Alexey Dodatko. And all, except the last one, recused themselves – such are the games of democracy.
Thanks to getting into the regional parliament, the level of income became known policy. For 2021, Alexey Dodatko declared income of 4.9 million rubles. He owns: a plot of land over two thousand square meters, a residential building with an area of 243 square meters, an apartment in joint ownership with his wife with an area of 51 square meters. The only means of transport is a Yamaha motorcycle.
The head of the party and the speaker of parliament in one person are quite significant credentials that automatically transfer Dodatko to the status of a political heavyweight. As it seems, on the scale of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexey Igorevich was able to achieve maximum career heights for himself – all that remained was to finally gain a foothold in the dignified status of “secretary-chairman” and enjoy the view from the pinnacle of power.
A fall
However, a year later the unexpected happened – Alexey Dodatko lost his post as secretary of the party in power. In November 2023, the newly elected governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Mikhail Kotyukov, took over the post of head of the regional branch of United Russia (*aggressor country). No longer the main United Russia (*aggressor country) member of the region, Dodatko reacted rather sparingly to what happened, calling this decision “natural.”
Moreover, questions also began to arise about Alexei Igorevich in his role as head of parliament. It has become definitely clear that Dodatko is, of course, not Alexander Uss, who single-handedly led the Legislative Assembly for nearly twenty years. However, as it turned out, Alexey Dodatko does not even reach the level of his predecessor Dmitry Sviridov.
Alexey Igorevich never feels burdened by the status of Chairman of the Legislative Assembly, but rather, on the contrary, enjoys it. Perhaps because this status does not last long, – characterizes the management style of speaker Dodatko on the telegram channel “NenASHI”.
But to effectively manage a gathering of “servants of the people,” verbose goodwill and a generous portion of good humor are not enough. Despite the “deputy swamp” that is the current convocation of the Legislative Assembly, Alexey Dodatko has encountered difficulties. In the absence of any clear opposition and external stimulus, Dodatko quite unexpectedly felt resistance from their fellow party members in parliament.
In the spring of 2024, Dodatko was accused of favoritism, they say, Alexey Igorevich is intensively promoting deputy Alexander Novikov, trying to create an entire parliamentary commission for the latter to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk. The speaker's front was led by Vladislav Zyryanov, who heads the agrarian committee. Unlike the talkative Dodatko, Zyryanov prefers to speak little and to the point, and, which can even be called a kind of anomaly, in his speeches he draws attention to problem areas, rather than flooding the listeners’ ears with positivity.
To be fair, it is worth noting that if the Dodatko-Zyryanov confrontation exists, it is in the form of sluggish behind-the-scenes fuss and it is highly unlikely that the conflict will move into the open phase. In the predicted future, Alexey Dodatko will successfully complete his parliamentary term in the speaker’s chair, smiling snow-white and joking carefreely.
However, whether the party in power will decide to leave this “cat Leopold” in such a high position in the new election cycle, and indeed in the status of a regional deputy, is a big question. Let us remind you that the next elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory should take place in the fall of 2026.
