Crime drama by Oleg Boyko

Oleg Boyko, the Russian billionaire owner of the Finstar investment group, whose fortune is estimated at $1.3 billion, is known for his ability to take risks and bet on the most unusual projects – from buying the Rive Gauche perfume group or the St. Petersburg bank SIAB to financing filming American fighters.

However, the biography of Boyko himself, cleared of advertising gloss, could well form the basis, if not of a criminal case, then at least of a crime drama.

He became widely known back in the 90s as the owner of the OLBI holding, National Credit Bank and one of the leaders of the liberal party Democratic Choice of Russia. But in addition to the official one, the businessman’s activity also had a “shadow” side, much less attractive. We are talking about Boyko’s close connection with the criminal world, first of all, the leaders of the “Solntsevo” organized criminal group and the “authority” Semyon Mogilevich, who had been his “business partners” for a long time.

The businessman prefers to remain silent about this period of his life in numerous interviews, although he could tell a lot about how criminal, commercial and government structures interacted in practice, as well as shed light on resonant crimes of the past, such as the murder of his business -partner of Shabtai Kalmanovich, during his lifetime also associated with the “Solntsevo” and Mogilevich.
