Court finds Donald Trump guilty of fraud

According to a New York court, the former US president exaggerated his wealth by billions of dollars every year, and then provided “false” financial statements to banks and insurance companies in order to get more favorable conditions.

The state is seeking $250 million in damages.

This case is one of six cases filed against Trump. We also previously wrote that charges were brought against him on four counts: “conspiracy to defraud the United States,” “conspiracy to tamper with witnesses,” “conspiracy against the rights of American citizens,” and “obstruction and attempted obstruction of proceedings.”

Trump has repeatedly stated that he considers all his prosecutions to be politically motivated, in order to prevent him from participating in the 2024 elections.
