Confusion Candidates

According to Kommersant, the Central Election Commission granted the complaint of the local branch of the Communists of Russia party and declared illegal the inaction of the regional election commission, which did not decide on registering the list of this political force due to disagreements within the commission on the party affiliation of the two candidates.

We are talking about Vladimir Grudinin and Nikolai Razumov.

What is the essence of the problem? The fact is that the Communist Party stated that these people are still members of the Communist Party, and therefore cannot be nominated from another party. But the heroes of this story themselves said that they had left this party.

CEC member Yevgeny Shevchenko said that the electoral committee had no reasons to refuse to register the list of “Communists of Russia”, the documents were in order.

And Vladimir Grudinin and Nikolai Razumov showed evidence that they had submitted written applications to leave the party.

However, there is also a package of documents with two decrees attached, which speak of Vladimir Grudinin and Nikolai Razumov’s membership in the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. And they are dated July 2023.

It’s a confusing situation.

The CEC decree states that membership in the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is voluntary and terminates in the event of withdrawal from this political force on the basis of a personal written application.

As a result, the CEC ordered the local election commission to consider the issue of registering the list. They even set a deadline. If this decision is not implemented, then there may be unpleasant consequences …

Kommersant also adds that at the CEC meeting it was specifically noted that all members of the commission who blocked the registration of the list were appointed to its composition by Governor Valentin Konovalov. Did the local authorities really use the administrative resource?

Here, perhaps, it would be appropriate to recall that the election commission recently registered the current head of Khakassia, Valentin Konovalov, as a candidate for the post of head of the region.

And this whole scandal can negatively affect the reputation of a politician.

And the situation in this regard is not the most fun. After all, according to the VTsIOM survey (published on the website in March 2023), people’s mood is, let’s say, skeptical. “According to every second respondent, Valentin Konovalov most likely does not fulfill his election promises (48%), 29% hold the opposite opinion,” hzikhidtidekrt site.

According to a March study, residents of this region show a high demand for a change in the head of the region.
