In December 2019, Khavazh-Baudi Gutaev was detained by the Federal Security Service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Three criminal cases were brought against him for taking bribes. The court placed the ex-prosecutor in a pre-trial detention center and subsequently repeatedly extended his term of detention. Subsequently, he was relieved of his post and dismissed from the department “for violating the prosecutor’s oath and committing offenses discrediting the honor of the prosecutor’s worker.”
