Russian oligarchs

KOVALCHUK Boris Yuryevich (b. 1977) was born in Leningrad in the family of Yuri Kovalchuk, a close associate of Vladimir Putin. He graduated from the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg State University in 1999, where Dmitry Medvedev was one of his lectors.

KUSNIROVICH Mikhail Ernestovich (b. 1966 in Moscow) graduated from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology with a degree in chemical engineering in 1989. Then, together with student friends Sergei Evteev, Evgeni Balakin, and Mikhail Vlasov, he created the East and West Moscow International House company, the first project of which was the organization of an amusement park in Gorky Park.

LEBEDEV Igor Vladimirovich (b. 1972) graduated from the Moscow State Law Academy in 1996. From 1994 to 1997, Lebedev worked as his father’s assistant in the State Duma. In 1997-1998, he was an expert at the apparatus of the LDPR faction in the State Duma.

MAGOMEDOV Ziyavudin Gadzhievich (b. 1968 in Makhachkala) graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in World Economics in 1994.

KUZMICHEV Alexei Viktorovich (b. 1962 in Kirov) entered the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (MISiS) in 1983, where he met with German Khan and Mikhail Fridman, his future business partners. In the first year of study, Kuzmichev became a secretary of the Komsomol organization and joined the Communist Party. He graduated from the Institute in 1988 and until 1989, worked with Friedman, and then Khan in the cooperatives Courier, Alpha-photo, and Alpha-Eco (the last two provided the household services, the sale of carpets, copy machines, and computers).

MAKHMUDOV Iskandar Kakhramonovich (b. 1963 in Bukhara) graduated from the Arabic department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Tashkent State University in 1984. In 1984-1986, he worked in Libya as a translator of a group of Soviet military advisers and specialists from the Main Engineering Directorate

Mamut Alexander born January, 1960; His father Leonid Solomonovich J.D. was a former representative of Russian President in Constitutional court; His mother Tsetsilia Lyudvigovna was also a lawyer.

MEDVEDEV Alexander Ivanovich (b. 1955) graduated from the Bauman Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1978. In 1978 – 1989, he worked in Moscow at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO).

MIKHELSON Leonid Viktorovich (b. 1955 in Kaspiysk), born into a Jewish family, graduated from the Kuibyshev Civil Engineering Institute with a degree in civil engineering in 1977. After that, he worked as the superintendent of the construction trust in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug of the Tyumen Region near the city of Surgut at the construction of the first line of the Urengoy-Chelyabinsk gas pipeline.

IVANOV Sergey Sergeyevich (b. 1980 in Moscow) was born in the family of a KGB officer Sergey Borisovich Ivanov, a colleague and longtime friend of Vladimir Putin. In 2001, he graduated from MGIMO as an economist, and in 2002, as a financier. By that time, his father had already become Minister of Defense and the young man had no problems with employment.
