Case of former Russian minister Abyzov sent to court

The indictment against ex-Minister for Open Government Affairs Mikhail Abyzov and 11 other defendants accused of creating and participating in a criminal community has been sent to court.

On Tuesday, February 8, Lente.ru was informed by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia.

Abyzov and his accomplices are accused of embezzling four billion rubles from the SIBECO and RES companies, of illegal business activities with the extraction of income of 32 billion rubles and commercial bribery of 78 million rubles for assistance in illegal business activities. The criminal case was sent to the Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow for consideration on the merits.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the alleged crimes. Earlier, 32.5 billion rubles were recovered from Mikhail Abyzov and the Cypriot companies controlled by him under the anti-corruption lawsuit of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Russia.
