Armenia and Azerbaijan announced clashes at the border

Tensions are rising again between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The press service of the Armenian army reported that Azerbaijani units used attack drones, which resulted in a soldier being mortally wounded and 8 others wounded.

The Azerbaijani military prosecutor’s office claims that as a result of the Armenian attack, an Azerbaijani serviceman died due to a bullet wound.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry accused Armenia of “gross violation of the tripartite agreement” and that the responsibility for the incident lies with the leadership of Armenia.

Note that Nagorno-Karabakh is a disputed territory between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The debate has been going on for years. Earlier, Russia helped Armenia to hold this territory, leaving its troops there. However, on March 18, it became known that because of the NMD in Ukraine, Russia withdrew its military from there to make up for more losses. Azerbaijan took advantage of the withdrawal of troops, and already on March 26, information appeared that the armed forces of Azerbaijan had entered the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh.

This was positively reacted in Ukraine, which has always supported Azerbaijan in the conflict. For example, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov said that the opening of such “second fronts” would help Ukraine.

At the end of March, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan stated that the Azerbaijani army did not retreat and returned to its previous positions in Nagorno-Karabakh.
