Anatoly Danilenko demonstrates whether it is possible to become a real landlord or latifundist after serving as a “sovereign” man all his life? Published on the website Anticorrosive
The former policeman and ex-Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine proved by his example that this is possible. The main thing is to join the “right” team in time. Danilenko managed to jump into the same carriage with Yuriy Lutsenko and Vitaly Yarema. Today, he may well get confused in listing plots of elite land holdings and apartments, the happy owners of which he and his family members have become.
Danilenko Estate Museums
Anatoly Vasilyevich Danilenko does not hesitate to hide the sudden surge of wealth that has suddenly washed over him, honestly listing his property in his tax return. Being in the third retirement of his life, he looks at the world from the window of his residence, located in the village of Khlepcha, Vasilkovsky district, Kyiv region. From the no less cozy palace opposite, his wife Natalya looks at her husband, also happy to own an estate in one of the most expensive places in Ukraine in terms of cost per square meter. The neighbors of the prosecutor and his wife turned out to be the family of former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and several other people from the political elite. Very close to Khlepcha between the villages of Malaya and Bolshaya Saltanovka, the successful heir Vyacheslav Danilenko bought 140 hectares of land on the shores of beautiful lakes, and a little further in the village of Vorzel, the territory of a former tourist center, where he intends to erect his own architectural monument of the 21st century. His head does not explain to anyone why the Danilenko family needs so much land and real estate. It won’t be superfluous, period. Only 2 houses and 3 apartments are recorded on it. His share is also in 9 plots of land and 5 apartments, which are joint property. The elite real estate of the prosecutor’s head turned out to be a “red rag” for the former head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko, who was trying to solve the mystery of his sudden enrichment. The head of the special service served in his position only a few months longer than Danilenko himself served as First Deputy Prosecutor General. In June 2015, President Poroshenko dismissed Nalyvaichenko. Now he is trying to find answers to questions that have long tormented him in the Anti-Corruption Committee he organized. Danilenko escaped with a slight fright from the initiative of the head of the SBU, who transferred a folder with incriminating evidence on him to the Prosecutor General’s Office. He was forced to leave Khlepcha for a short time, hiding in Germany, but having received security guarantees, he returned to Ukraine. He had too many influential friends surrounded by Poroshenko, whose nominee he was always considered.
Prelude
Danilenko started as a simple policeman, without winning any special laurels in the service. Moreover, he retired rather quietly and early with the rank of only a lieutenant colonel. He had no trace of any land, houses or apartments at that time. Just a regular pension. There were also some good savings, which for the time being Danilenko was afraid to legalize. It was clearly not worthwhile for a simple lieutenant colonel to boast about real estate. The fact is that the unscrupulous operative served for some time as the head of a department of the State Tax Administration. He was placed there by Alexander Bondarenko, who later became Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yuri Lutsenko. The transfer to another duty station was done with great care. Tax officer Danilenko was involved in “laundering” VAT. One of his clients was Vladimir Deinega, the general director of Argo-Trading LTD and an “insider” in the company of high-ranking police officers. Danilenko’s services were quite expensive – up to $50 thousand monthly, but there were no offended people. At the same time, he met Gennady Ilyin, the former “foreman” of the Kyiv organized crime group Salokhi, then the head of Petro Poroshenko’s personal security, and later a high-ranking employee of the capital’s police department. How unpredictable life can be. For Danilenko, the unpredictability was initially unpleasant. It is not known what happened within the walls of the tax administration, but the forty-year-old head of the department was dismissed.
Anatoly Danilenko. Second coming
The Orange Revolution brought him out of oblivion. The National Security Council was headed by Petro Poroshenko, who immediately began to place reliable people in their places. The new Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yuriy Lutsenko, interceded for Vitaly Yarema, who became the head of the capital’s Central Internal Affairs Directorate, and Anatoly Danilenko, who soon received the rank of colonel, was returned from retirement as his assistant, again under the patronage of Alexander Bondarenko. The formation of the “team” was completed. At the Kyiv City Internal Affairs Directorate, Deputy Chief Danilenko first showed interest in land relations. Using his connections in Kievreconstruction, he managed to sell several plots of land on which the capital’s traffic police services were located to businessmen for development. Supervising the activities of the traffic police was not limited to this. Danilenko was interested in “illegal” trading operations with state license plates and driver’s licenses. Ordinary inspectors have learned perfectly well that the “correct” approach to the deputy head of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate can affect unscheduled leave in the summer. Together with the head of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate Vitaly Yarema, he helped ensure that all employees of the capital’s police became clients of the Knyazh insurance company. From 2007 to 2008, Danilenko spent most of his working time close to Minister Lutsenko, serving as his assistant. It was then that his son became the owner of lakes near Saltanovka.
Previously, 300 hectares of land were occupied by fish farming. At the end of the 90s, through cunning manipulation, all land passed from public ownership to private ownership. With the help of Danilenko, the plot of land was divided equally into 2 equal parts. One of the halves was taken over by Saltanovka-Cascade LLC, whose founders included son Vitaly. The young businessman Vitaly Danilenko, who rapidly started his own business, somehow managed to acquire a share in Prestige-Invest-Group LLC before purchasing the land, valuable because he owned a building in the capital, inherited from the Kyiv Generator plant. With the son of a great family friend Gennady Ilyin, who also worked in the capital’s police department, Danilenko Jr. acquired 5 hectares of a forest camp site near the village of Vorzel. A break in the expansion of land came in 2010, when Yarema resigned, followed by his faithful comrade-in-arms Danilenko. They already lingered in their chairs. The main patron, Petro Poroshenko, whose people they have always been, left the power structures long ago. High positions had to be vacated for people from the “team” of the new President Yanukovych.
Anatoly Danilenko. The Third Coming and the Finale
It is unknown what Anatoly Danilenko did for almost 4 years. Apparently, he shuddered nervously at night, expecting that they would remember about him, or rather about his lands, and force him to return everything. Everything was heading towards a similar outcome. A lawsuit has appeared in court to recognize the illegal operation of transferring land near Saltanovka into private ownership. Half of the allotment had to be returned to the other owner, and the judges did not dare to offend Saltanovka-Cascade LLC. In March 2014, under the new government, Vitaly Yarema took the place of Deputy Prime Minister, and with him Anatoly Danilinko returned to public service. It couldn’t come at a better time. The duo of former police officers moved together to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine. During the six months allotted to him, Danilenko immediately tried to make up for the time lost under Yanukovych. He got his son permission to build an elite housing complex in Vorzel. Danilenko was also noted for lobbying the interests of the BRSM-Neft company. In the same beloved Vasilkovsky district, like-minded businessmen built an oil depot, and located it close to a strategic facility of the Ministry of Defense. The military tried to ban construction, but their protests were stubbornly rejected by the Prosecutor General’s Office. Yarema’s first deputy confidently responded to accusations of personal interest in the outcome of the case that in the General Prosecutor’s Office he only performs the functions of a personnel officer and supply manager. He has nothing to do with procedural and investigative activities, so pointing a finger in his direction is at least indecent. Only the flared up inter-clan conflict in Petro Poroshenko’s entourage between Yarema and Danilenko on the one hand and the head of the SBU Valentin Nalyvaichenko on the other forced the boss, without deciding who was right or wrong, to sweep away the entire pack that had fought in the fight.
In February 2015, Anatoly Danilenko once again became a pensioner. He shouldn’t complain about his life. His father’s business continues to be developed by his son Vitaly. The threat of expropriation does not hang over the property. Home, and in his case more than one, family, children. What else does a person need to calmly meet old age?
