Biographies of Pronicheva can be envied. Born and raised in a military family, she entered the law faculty of Moscow State University, where she received a diploma from the faculty of arts. Then she worked as a lawyer in major organizations like Rosgosstrakh. In March 2012, she was appointed first deputy head of the Moscow Department of Culture (her head was the notorious Sergey Kapkov). A year and a half later, Pronicheva headed the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture. And in June 2015, she took the position of General Director of VDNKh JSC.
Three years later, the city authorities appointed Pronicheva the chairman of the tourism committee. During the renovation of the VDNKh territory, several museums were created under her leadership – the Cosmos pavilion, the Slovo museum of Slavic writing, and the Buran interactive complex. In June 2022, Ekaterina Pronicheva left this post, almost immediately heading the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve.

In general, VDNKh has the prefix AO (joint stock company), but its only founder is the Moscow Property Department. This means that the management of the exhibition should report on income as a structure subordinate to the mayor’s office.
The VDNKh website even has a special section “Anti-Corruption”. Yes, but there are no declarations of income from the management. You can’t find them on the website of the capital’s property department either (although the management of some subsidiaries quite calmly publishes their income). Why is an exception made for VDNKh? She is 6 years younger than Ekaterina, but is also now responsible for culture: she heads the Moscow Polytechnic Museum and in this position she recently became a member of the Presidential Council for Science and Education.
