AT murder Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Mikhail Manevich almost 25 years later, new details began to “surface”. One of the specialized services currently knows for certain the persons responsible for the death of one of the prominent reformers. From what source this information is not yet clear, but the customer of this resonant killingsis none other than Yuri Evgenievich Rydnik – a former participant in the political and economic life of the region, cruel and intolerant of competitors.
For more than 20 years, the 90s have died down, and their echoes are still heard and will remind of the past for a long time to come. During this period, a lot has changed both in the state and in the regions. But St. Petersburg has been of particular interest for many years. Why exactly this city received the status of “Gangster” and will be remembered for the fact that one of the most high-profile murders thundered here? And here’s why!
In the difficult 80s and 90s for the state, almost the entire modern political elite graduated from the universities of the northern capital. But not only future reformers, economists and jurists. A significant part became representatives of the business elite, strongly associated with the largest Russian organized crime groups. One of these representatives was Yuri Rydnik – widely known in some years as a businessman, banker, short-term politician, but even more so as a fraudster, and, attention, a possible sponsor and customer of a number of high-profile murders committed in St. Petersburg and beyond. How did a student who actively participated in the scientific life of the university suddenly become part of the criminal world and “became stained with blood up to the elbows.” Let’s take a look at his biography. Yuri studied at a school with in-depth study of foreign languages. Their knowledge, worthy education, gave Rydnik to consider the possibility of doing business in the United States. However, this turned out to be absolutely unpromising for him, he returned to Russia and actively engaged in trade. The connections that Yuri Rydnik had acquired by that time allowed him to bring in gigantic batches of the so-called “Bush legs” to the starving country. They also helped him put together an initial fortune and enter the political stage.
In the 90s, Rydnik was a co-owner of the Soyuzkontrakt company. He co-owned the company with him. Shabtai Kalmanovich. In the early 90s, in order to promote their business, these “entrepreneurial figures” rubbed themselves into the confidence of Anatoly Sobchak. Interesting is the fact that they persuaded the mayor to give them more than 50 historical buildings and plots of land. The scheme was so clear that a puncture was practically impossible. At that time, the head of the KUGI of St. Petersburg was Mikhail Manevich. In turn, he did not seek to give everything that Rydnik and Kalmanovich wanted, and therefore signed the documents for only a few “trial deals”. Thus, Soyuzkontrakt purchased the first 11 historical buildings. To date, the investigation has established that the promises of Rydnik and Kalmanovich are pure fraud, misappropriation of city property, as well as lobbying for the Construction Trust construction company.
