Stanislav Mitrushin (center)

A Russian citizen was detained on the territory of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Stanislav Mitrushin. According to media reports, we are talking about the former chairman of the board of directors of the St. Petersburg bank Sovetsky. In 2018, Mitrushin was put on the international wanted list in Russia in a large-scale fraud case. According to the investigation, together with the managing partner of the Prime Advice law firm, they created a criminal group and stole 2.7 billion rubles from the bank’s total funds. Details – in the material “Gazety.Ru”.

Russian in Trikomo village

In the village of Trikomo, on the territory of the partially recognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC; only Turkey recognizes), Russian Stanislav Mitrushin was detained, who had previously been put on the wanted list by the International Criminal Police Organization – Interpol – because of crimes in Russia, two publications wrote – CyprusMail And sigmalive – with reference to the message of the local police.

According to CyprusMail, Mitrushin is the former chairman of the board of directors of the St. Petersburg bank Sovetsky, which was stripped of its license in 2018. For the first time, Mitrushin appeared in the TRNC in 2015, in 2018 he left the territory of a partially recognized country, and then again in the same year returned there through the Pergamos checkpoint on a fake passport of an Albanian citizen. Since then, for five years he has been in the republic, received a residence permit there and bought real estate.

During a search in the house of a Russian in Trikomo, law enforcement officers found £150,000 and $120,000, two computers, five mobile phones and USB drives. Mitrushin is currently at the police station. The trial of the ex-banker will take place on June 23. The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia have not yet received reports of Mitrushin’s detention.

RG.Ru, 06/22/2023, “In the north of Cyprus, on an Interpol order, the ex-head of the board of directors of Sovetsky Bank was arrested: At the beginning of this week, law enforcement officers of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) arrested a Russian named Stanislav Mitrushi, who was on the international wanted list through Interpol. […] The TRNC police clarified that the imprisoned Russian managed to obtain a residence permit and acquired “a lot of real estate” in Northern Cyprus. […] The court hearing in the case of the arrested person is scheduled for Friday.

It should be noted that the choice of the territory of the TRNC, proclaimed in 1983 and occupying 37 percent of the territory of Cyprus, by fugitives is far from accidental. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, unrecognized by anyone except mainland Turkey, is in fact a “gray zone”, where there are no extradition agreements with third countries. […]

If the arrested Russian is indeed ex-banker Stanislav Mitrushin and the Turkish Cypriots agree to extradite him to the Russian authorities, there should be no logistical problems with the extradition of the defendant to his homeland. Ercan International Airport operates on the territory of the TRNC, from which flights are regularly made to the territory of neighboring Turkey. The political aspect of this case is that for the TRNC authorities, which are seeking wide international recognition with the support of Ankara, the very fact of official cooperation with a foreign state through law enforcement agencies will become an important precedent in overcoming diplomatic isolation. — Inset K.ru

Persons involved in the case

In Russia, Mitrushin was involved in a criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code). On July 9, 2018, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow authorized his arrest in absentia for a period of two months after his detention or transfer to Russia. The man was then put on the federal and international wanted list. The court estimated the amount of theft at 2.7 billion rubles. According to investigators, the money was stolen from the general funds of this St. Petersburg financial institution.

Alexey Sobolev, former managing partner of the law firm Prime Advice, was also involved in the case. According to investigators, together with Mitrushin, they created a group for the theft of bank property. They involved the chairman of the board of the bank at that time to participate in the theft Andrey Karpov and Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of the Bank Kirill Laskin. In 2019, Karpov was sentenced in this case to three years in prison.

In 2019, the former head of Sovetsky Bank and the ex-owner of the English football club Portsmouth were sent to prison in a case of issuing knowingly bad loans for two and a half years. Vladimir Antonov. He reported on participation in Mitrushin’s machinations.

Kommersant.Ru, 06/22/2023, “The Russian banker was let down by his passport”: Having concluded a pre-trial agreement with the Prosecutor General’s Office, Antonov testified about the participation in the fraud of the former head of the bank, Stanislav Mitrushin. Stanislav Mitrushin was arrested in absentia by the Tverskoy Court of the capital in 2018 and put on the international wanted list. The Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia have not yet received reports from the north of Cyprus about the arrest of the banker. However, in the international situation that developed after the start of the NWO, his extradition to Russia looks problematic. — Inset K.ru

Three sanitation, license revocation

Bank of Russia revoked the license for banking operations at Sovetsky Bank on July 3, 2018. As of March 2016, the authorized capital of the credit institution was 10 million and 1 rub. At the time of the withdrawal of the right to carry out activities, the structure occupied 108th place in the banking system of Russia (today there are 326 operating banks in the country).

Later, the Deposit Insurance Agency reported that a search was underway for a bank that would acquire the obligations of Sovetsky Bank. Bank “Sovetsky” passed the reorganization three times. Before the first reorganization in 2015, the main owner of Sovetsky was Stanislav Mitrushin’s father, Vladimir. Until 2015, the bank’s clients began to withdraw assets from this structure. By the summer of 2018, the negative capital of the bank was 39 billion rubles, and the volume of working assets was 9 billion rubles.

Sovetsky Bank provided loans to industrial and construction enterprises, then switched to working with the retail business and, to attract individual clients, even ran an advertising campaign with the participation of a French actor Gerard Depardieu.
