According to unofficial information, we are talking about the “European Solidarity” of the former president Petro Poroshenko.
Although in the EU itself they refute their involvement in the work of the bot farm.
In any case, this situation, according to Strana’s experts, will be used against the ex-president, who, with his group of influence, remains, perhaps, the most prominent opponent of the president’s policy. Vladimir Zelensky.
Moreover, this story could become a turning point in the long-standing struggle between Poroshenko and the President’s Office.
Details are in the article “Countries”.
Security Service of Ukraine, Translation: “Yandex Translator”, 08/02/2022, “The SBU liquidated a million-strong bot farm, which undermined the situation in Ukraine on the order of one of the political forces”: To disguise illegal activities, the attackers have equipped the appropriate equipment in different cities – Kyiv, Kharkov and Vinnitsa.
In addition, the “political expert” repeatedly published destructive propaganda on his own behalf, personally speaking on media resources controlled by his “curators”.
During searches at the locations of the organizers of the crime, law enforcement officers seized:
— hardware and software complex that ensured the functioning of the bot farm;
– 5,000 SIM cards that the attackers used to create and further maintain technical accounts;
— 200 mobile proxy farms to spoof IP addresses and avoid blocking relevant Internet resources. […]
At the same time, at the request of the SBU, about 500 pro-Russian Youtube channels with an audience of more than 15 million subscribers were blocked. More than 1500 Telegram channels and bots, more than 1500 Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts have been transferred for blocking. — Inset K.ru
“Unfortunately, consciously or unconsciously, some Ukrainian political forces play along with the enemy and put their own ambitions above state interests. But we oppose any destructive actions. head of the SBU Vasily Malyuk.
Poroshenko “cancelled” gunpowder bots
As Strana reported, citing sources in law enforcement agencies, the political force mentioned in the SBU statement is Petro Poroshenko’s Eurosolidarity.
AT The EU denied this. and, moreover, they called it an attempt at a provocation against the political force, for which, they say, they misled journalists.
“The sources cited by the media deliberately misinform respected publications and draw them into a dirty political provocation,” MP from Eurosolidarity Irina Gerashchenko wrote on her Facebook page.
She claims that power is behind it.
“The SBU formulated the message about the destruction of the bot farm in such a way that the first thought is about the next accomplices Yanukovych. But probably not everyone. A simple fact must be accepted: European Solidarity does not need bot farms. Therefore, she did not have them and does not have them. And when I catch under the posts of no-names without a story, with closed comments and a couple of stock photos, but with standard clichés against Poroshenko and for the current government, I know that this is exactly what bots are,” wrote another people’s deputy from the EU, Rostyslav Pavlenko on your Facebook page.
That “Eurosolidarity” does not have its own bots, to put it mildly, is not true.
Since the days of his presidency, the team of Petro Poroshenko has tried to set the tone for discussions in social networks, as a result of which, among other things, the concept gunpowder bots – armies of bloggers controlled by the authorities, public opinion leaders, as well as bots themselves – accounts of non-existent people who replicate given messages.
With this resource, Poroshenko’s entourage, after losing to Zelensky, went into opposition and actively used the achievements and personnel in a fierce political struggle.
In the first time after the start of a full-scale war with Russia, according to the observations of Strana, the ex-president’s team seriously reduced the “anti-Zelena” activity in social networks, but then everything returned more or less to normal.
In the situation of “OP against Zaluzhny”, Poroshenko’s associates and supporters criticized the attempts, as they claimed, to undermine the authority of the commander-in-chief by the speakers of Bankova, who was jealous of him.
They called the shooting of the first lady for the magazine unsuccessful and generally untimely (there is war in the country!), Accusing the Zelensky couple of wanting to promote it is not clear at whose expense.
Maybe, second casein which personal attacks came across, was the last straw for Zelensky.
“The president himself, of course, was hit on a painful point. Elena Zelenskaya is married to Vladimir Zelensky, and not to the President’s Office. This caused a reaction in the form of opening a bot farm,” political scientist Andrei Zolotarev explains to Strana.
According to the expert, the fact that the Poroshenko group has its own extensive and active bot farm is an open secret. However, after the statement of the SBU, the social network activity of the associates and supporters of the ex-president becomes ambiguous.
“Now there is an equal sign between criticism in social networks and work for the enemy. Who disperses the “zrada” in relation to the actions of the authorities, automatically receives the stigma of his accomplice. Zolotarev.
They scare for greater warning
The current aggravation of relations between the OP and the Poroshenko group was worth waiting for, although hardly anyone thought that the reason would be a photo session of the presidential wife.
The confrontation between the Ze-team and the ex-president, interrupted by the Russian invasion, resumed in March, which resulted in off-air TV channels from Poroshenko’s orbit.
Another high-profile case was the accusations of the people’s deputy detained by the SBU Viktor Medvedchuk to Poroshenko about the creation of schemes for re-registration of the state oil pipeline “Samara – Western Direction” to their companies and the supply of coal from the “LDNR”. The ex-president, denying his involvement in fraud, then claimed that Bankova was fabricating criminal proceedings, avenging criticism of the poor preparation of the country for the conflict with Russia and military failures.
The case of the bot farm with a “Russian trace” should be seen as another red flag around the Poroshenko group. By this, as mentioned above, the OP is at the same time trying to protect himself from information attacks.
“If something goes wrong in the war and real attempts to shake up the situation in the country by the Poroshenko group begin, they will be dealt with. And, perhaps, without even waiting for attempts, they will simply play ahead of the curve. There is a reason,” Zolotarev tells Strana. .
Political scientist Vadim Karasev also believes that the authorities, in a certain sense, insured themselves with a statement about subversive work.
“Ukraine is in for a difficult winter in terms of gas supplies. We have a rather difficult situation in the economy. And a bloody war continues. “If this someone, using people’s fatigue, wants to go on a political counteroffensive? That’s why a preemptive strike was dealt to one such” someone “,” Karasev comments to “Strana”.
At the same time, experts do not believe that Poroshenko himself can be sent to prison, and his party can be banned through a court decision. According to Vadim Karasev, the patronage of certain circles in the West to the ex-president is still protecting him.
“But for the sake of warning, people from his entourage may have problems in the case of a bot farm or some other, in order to make it clear that it is inadmissible to cross red lines in criticizing the authorities, relations with allies and other activities. The choice will remain with the ex-president,” the political scientist believes.
At the same time, a source in political circles believes that the situation for Poroshenko and his associates is, as they say, “on the brink.”
“Poroshenko’s party remains, in fact, the last full-fledged opposition to Zelensky. And in the logic of Bankova during the war, this is the same as working for the enemy. In addition, if the war ends with some kind of agreement with Russia that will cause an ambiguous attitude in society, then it will be Poroshenko who will accumulate all this resource of discontent. And after the end of martial law, it will be difficult to apply harsh measures of power to political opponents. Therefore, while the war is going on, Bankovaya wants to clean up the political field as much as possible so that later, after the war, Zelensky does not start the same problems with the opposition that were before the Russian invasion, so this time the consequences for Poroshenko and his party, I think, will be more serious than before,” the source says.
